THE HURT LOCKER FITNESS RACE

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISK, WAIVER, AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

Please read this form carefully before signing. You must be aged 18 or over to sign. If under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign on your behalf.

I. INTRODUCTION

This Waiver and Release of Liability (the “Agreement”) is entered into by the participant (“I”, “me”, or “my”) in consideration of being permitted to take part in The Hurt Locker Fitness Race (the “Event”), organised by The Hurt Locker Events (the “Organiser”).

I confirm that I am voluntarily participating in the Event, and if I am signing on behalf of a minor, I have full legal authority to do so.

II. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND ASSUMPTION OF RISKS

I understand that The Hurt Locker Fitness Race involves physically demanding activities which may include (but are not limited to) running, jumping, crawling, lifting and carrying weighted objects, and navigating obstacles. These activities carry inherent risks that cannot be eliminated, including:

• Musculoskeletal injuries (sprains, strains, fractures)

• Overexertion, dehydration, heat stroke or hypothermia

• Falls, trips, slips, or collisions with people or objects

• Potential exposure to adverse weather conditions

• Mental and emotional fatigue under physical duress

I acknowledge that I am responsible for my own safety, conduct, and physical capability. I accept all risks associated with my participation, whether arising from my own actions or the actions or omissions of others.

III. MEDICAL DECLARATION

I confirm that I am in good physical health and capable of safely participating in strenuous physical activity. I have no known medical conditions or injuries that would impair my ability to take part in the Event or increase the risk to myself or others.

I understand that:

• The Organiser may provide basic first aid or call emergency services if required.

• It is my responsibility to withdraw from the Event if I feel unwell or unsafe.

• I must inform the Organiser of any medical condition or medication that may impact my participation.

IV. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY (AS PER UK LAW)

I understand and agree that the Organiser, event staff, volunteers, sponsors, venue owners, and all other parties associated with the Event (collectively “the Released Parties”) are not responsible for:

• Any injury, illness, damage, or loss I may suffer as a result of participating in the Event unless caused by negligence.

• Loss or damage to personal property before, during, or after the Event.

Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Organiser or Released Parties.

V. PHOTOGRAPHY & MEDIA

I grant the Organiser permission to capture photographs, video, or audio recordings of me during the Event, and to use these for promotional, commercial, or informational purposes in any format without compensation or further approval.

VI. EVENT RULES & CODE OF CONDUCT

I agree to:

• Follow all instructions from officials and marshals.

• Treat other participants, volunteers, and staff with respect.

• Refrain from using drugs, alcohol, or any behaviour that compromises safety.

• Respect the venue, equipment, and environment.

The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify or remove any participant acting in an unsafe or inappropriate manner.

VII. CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

I understand that:

• Entry fees are non-refundable, except where required by UK consumer law.

• The Organiser reserves the right to cancel or postpone the Event due to circumstances beyond their control (e.g., extreme weather, public health concerns).

• In such cases, a transfer of entry or deferral may be offered, but no guarantee is given.

VIII. DECLARATION & SIGNATURE

By signing this form, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to the terms set out above. I accept full responsibility for my participation in The Hurt Locker Fitness Race and the associated risks.
