Dear athletes,
The 21'-22' Eagle Throwdown online qualifiers and live finals are now complete!
We just wanted to say a huge thank you to each and every athlete that got involved and to any of you gym owners that had athletes attend. You are all appreciated and we hope you had as much fun as we did!
From the get go we wanted this event to motivate athletes and bring members of gyms together with a common goal of getting and staying fit over the winter period! With around 500 online registrations and 160 finalists we feel we set out what we achieved to do and for that we're very thankful.
We now look to the 22'-23' season where we will be making changes to the online qualifiers to make the categories even more inclusive, competitive and with added benefits for the gym with the most athletes registered, as well as the top overall finishers in each category. We hope to reach even more gyms and athletes to further grow our amazing community.
We've listened, learned and will now put in place changes to make this next season an unbelievable experience. We can't wait to share it all with you!
Thank you again.
The Eagle Throwdown team.
Dear athletes,
We are now just two days out from competition and we are damn excited, we hope you are too!
Just a reminder of a few key things:
We hope you're fired up and ready to smash the workouts, this will be a day to remember!
See you on Sunday all.
The Eagle Throwdown Team.
Happy Monday athletes.
The event is almost here and we can't wait to show you what we have in store for you!
In the meantime, we hope your training is going well and here are some answers to a few FAQ's we've received:
- How many workouts will there be? There will be a minimum of 3 workouts on each finals day. These will be evenly balanced to create a fair, level playing feild for all athletes.
- Will there be chalk provided? There will be chalk in the holding area, but you will need to bring your own for the workout floor. We want to limit sharing anything as much as possible due to obvious reasons.
- Do I need to bring outdoor gear? Whether there are outdoor workouts or not, we recommend wrapping up warm and bringing plenty of layers. It will be chilly!
- Do we need to take lateral flow tests before arrival? We would really like it if you would all take a lateral flow test within 48 hours prior to the event. Though not mandatory, everyone's safety is of our highest concern, so it is highly recommended.
- Are dogs allowed? Yes, but please keep dogs on leads at all times and away from the workout floor.
- Can spectators come along? Yes! Spectators get in free, but we'd ask that you support us and our event vendors by making a purchase, no matter how small on the day.
- Are there vendors? Yes! THE DEFIANT CO. will be joining us showcasing and offering their awesome training apparel. CANNONBALL COFFEE will be served all day and tea also. NOCCO and BAREBELLS will be on sale to keep you well fuelled, and there will be a range of protein porridges and baked goods available also. TWISTED KITCHEN will be serving up tasty breakfasts, plus pizzas throughout the day.
Where do I park? There is a large parking area at the end of the estate (drive past the gym to the end, it's on your left) please park there. DO NOT park over or block any businesses, as many have workers coming and going, even on a Sunday!
That's it for now athletes! Best of luck at the event and we look forward to welcoming you to CrossFit Volentia soon!
