The CrossFit Volentia QUAD SQUAD is back for 2024!

If you're looking for an inclusive, fun, community driven event then look no further! Create your mixed team of 4 (2 x Females, 2 x Males) and get signed up for a great day of fitness here at CrossFit Volentia.

Event information:

  • Expect a classic throwdown that will be both fun and challenging for all levels!

 

Movement standards:

  • This is an inclusive competition accessible to most.
  • You will need a good understanding of fundamental functional movements including; weightlifting, gymnastics, kettlebell, dumbbell and bodyweight movements, including full depth squats (hip crease below knee) and knee to floor lunges, but other than that all are welcome! 
  • Scaling options will be available if needed.
  • Regardless of your skill level, experience etc you will be challenged and you will have an awesome day!

Tickets are limited, so grab yours today and we will see you on the dancefloor in February (you do not need to confirm all team members straight away, you can purchase a ticket and create your team later)! 

 

NOTE: We run a no refund policy, but tickets can be transferred to another team and teammates can be changed if needed.

4 x AMRAP stations, 1:30 work 30s transition for max combined reps

 

1.

  • 6 Synchro Wallball box step overs (all 20’’) 9/6kg
  • 10 Synchro ab mat sit ups 

2.

  • Synchro Dball/ sandbag to shoulder (mix of weights)

3.

  • Max synchro Burpees over the bar (2 teammates burpee, 2 teammates hang)

4.

  • 8 Synchro KB Russian swings (20/12kg)
  • 2 Synchro Up and back team shuttles

 

Score = total reps over all AMRAPS

For max calories, rower to move for the full 8 minutes:

  • Rowing calories (all teammates must row)

 

For max barbell reps: 

In Same sex pairs - YGIG rounds in pairs each round 

 

  • 12 Synchro Wallballs - all to 9ft target (9/6)
  • 12 Synchro Deadlifts (60/40kg)

 

NOTE: Minimum work requirement 4 x complete rounds of the wallballs and thrusters. Score is the amount of calories rowed + the number of barbell reps completed.

Good morning teams,

 

Just 2 days to go!

We hope you're as excited as we are for our 2024 CF Volentia Quad Squad event. With 30 teams (120 athletes) signed up, this will be our biggest competiton this year!

Please remember to arrive between 0800-0815 ready for the athlete briefing at 0815. 

If you can, please car share and only park at the front car park at Stepnell House, Lawford Road CV21 2UU. Do not park in the estate as this creates issues with neighbours and can cause delays on the day. 

The Volentia Cafe will be open from 0800 serving protein porridge, NOCCO, protein snacks and hot drinks. We are a cashless cafe. 

We have Santinas woodfired pizza co and WIth Attitude Activewear joining us as vendors also so bring some pennies (card) to treat yourself!

Finally, a huge thank you in advance to all of our volunteers who will help us to ensure the smooth running of the event, you are all legends in our eyes.

Hello teams! 

Here is some useful information regarding the upcoming Quad Squad event.

Timings:

  • Athlete arrival 0800-0815
  • Athlete briefing 0815
  • WOD 1 starts at 0845
  • Event to finish by 1630

Important: You're more than welcome to bring camping chairs but please, only use these outside as they take up a lot of space and we have 120 athletes plus spectators and volunteers to fit into the gym. There will be space for a few gazebos if you want to set up one outside with your chairs if the weather turns especially British... 

To help us to stick to the above timings please help us out by doing the following: 

  • Only park in the allocated car park at Stepnell House, Lawford road CV21 2UU (please do not block the entrance to the car park or rear entrance to Stepnell house, or any businesses in the estate where the gym is located) - Please car share due to limited parking.
  • Please ensure your team arrives within the 15 minute athlete arrival window. 
  • Be ready for your heat 5 minutes before you're due to go onto the floor for each workout. 
  • Once your workout is complete please sign your scoresheet, fist bump your judge and then leave the workout floor promptly so that we can get the next heat on. 

Things to bring: 

  • Lifting shoes (if you wear them)
  • Coffee/ travel mug for hot drinks
  • Skipping rope 
  • Your loudest voice, we want to hear you cheer for all teams, not just your mates!
  • Your top bants, this isn't the CF Games, let's keep it fun ;) 

We've got 4 spicy events for you to get your teeth into that will test your individual fitness, teamwork in various groups and more! 

There will be pizzas courtesy of Santina's Woodfired Pizza from midday and the Volentia cafe will be open from 0800 serving protein porridge, various bars, Nocco, tea, coffee and more! 

With attitude activewear will be on site showcasing their awesome clothing, so keep a bit of space in your bag for some new training gear!

Dear team captains,

Happy New year! 

We hope you have had an awesome break and are looking forward to 2024 and also, the upcoming Quad Squad event!

With the competition now just over a month away it's time to complete your registration and invite your teammates to join your team. 

To do this simply collect your team members email addresses, login to your account on Throwdown Hub and send them an invite. They will then need to accept the invite and join your team. 

Notes: Please complete this by Sunday the 14th of February at the latest. Teams must be complete in order to compete on the day, with no exceptions. Ensure that you check that the spelling on each email address is 100% correct, or the invite will be lost in transit.
