Grab a mate of the opposite sex (MF teams) and join us for a challenging, community driven event here at CrossFit Volentia!

 

Useful Info:

  • TICKET SALES HAVE CLOSED.
  • Prizes for all podium finishers.
  • 4 WODs for all teams
  • Food and drinks available on the day

  • No qualifiers 
  • Scaled and RX categories
  • Professional pictures from the event

 

Movement requirements (RX):

  • Barbell movements (Clean, squat, STO etc) 60kg / 40kg
  • Kettlebell movements (Goblet squat, snatch, lunge etc) 24kg/ 16kg
  • Dumbell movements 22.5kg/ 15kg
  • A good understanding and proficiency of in all basic and the majority of RX CrossFit movements. Only 1 team member needs to be able to do muscle ups and handstand variations (though there is no guarantee that they will come up). 
  • If you generally complete workoutrs RX, then this is the category for you, even if you cannot do absolutely every high level skill.

  • Kettlebell movements (Goblet squat, snatch, lunge etc) 16kg/ 12kg
  • Dumbbell movements 15kg/ 10kg
  • A good understanding and proficiency in all basic CrossFit movements.
  • This category is for athletes that are either new to CrossFit, or those that cannot do many, if any, high level RX skills.

Score: Rounds + Reps 7 minute time cap

7 Min AMRAP 

 

  • 20 Synchro Wallballs (9/6)
  • 4 Up and back shuttles (YGIG reps)
  • 2 Up and back bear crawl (1 lap each)

NOTE: Wallball synchro is both at depth and wallballs hitting the correct female/male height lines at the same time. Both feet must start behind the line on the shuttles, both hands must start behind the line on the bear crawls.

Score: Weight (kg) 8 minute time cap

In 6 minutes both athletes to find a max weight of: 

  • 3rm thruster (from the floor)

Cap = 6 mins

Note: Following this workout athletes will rest for 2 minutes then begin the next workout. The team score is both athletes combined weight. Athletes can use both of the bars available or one, their choice.

5 Rounds for time: 

  • 6 Snatches (60/40) (40/30)
  • 5 Synchro pull ups *Scaled athletes have a scaling option 
  • 10 Synchro head touch push ups
  • 15 Synchro air squats

6 Min Cap 

NOTE: *Scaled athletes can share the pull ups and can assist their partner if they wish. They must then continue with the push ups and squats synchro.

  • 8 TTB - scaled athletes toes above waist
  • 12 Synchro box jumps (24/20’’) - scaled can step 
  • 16 Synchro ALT DB Hang clean and STO (22.5/15) (15/10)
  • 8 Synchro DB Box step overs 

Cap = 8 Mins

 

NOTE: The TTB can be completed by either athlete. All other movements are synchro.

Hello athletes,

Thank you so much for joining us at our 2023 Mixed Pairs yesterday! 

We had an absolute blast and hope that you did too. It was awesome watching you all throwdown and support each other throughout the day!

Masters Same Sex Pairs: 

  • 19th November 2023
  • All athletes must be over 35 and the total age of both athletes together must be a minimum of 80 years of age by the day of the event (19/11/2023).
  • These are open categories, therefore accessible to most. 
  • Careful consideration will be made to make this event challenging, but specific for masters athletes. 
  • Whether you see yourself as an RX or scaled athlete you will be able to compete and will be challenged on the day.

Quad Squad 2024:

  • 4th February 2024
  • Mixed teams of 4 (FFMM)
  • 4 Scored workouts for all teams
  • This is an inclusive competition accessible to most.
  • Scaling options will be available if needed.
  • Regardless of your skill level, experience etc you will be challenged and you will have an awesome day!

CF Volentia Mixed Pairs 2023

Hello teams! 

The CrossFit Volentia Mixed Pairs is this Sunday!

 

We're all set for another awesome event and are looking forward to seeing you all on the day! Please remember to arrive between 0800 and 0815 (not before 0800) ready for the athlete briefing at 0815. The first event will start at 0845. 

For parking please ensure that you use the allocated front car park at Stepnell House, Lawford Road, CV21 2UU ensuring that you do not block the entrance to the car park, or the back of the industrial units. Please do not park in the industrial estate by the gym, access to all businesses must be kept free at all times. 

Please ensure your team registration is complete ASAP if you haven't already, this is mandatory for all teams and must be completed before you will be able to compete on the day. Not sure how? Dear teams,

 

Just over a week to go until the event and we are fired up! We hope your training is going well and we're excited to watch you throwdown on the day! 

It's time to please ensure that your team is complete on Throwdown Hub. As team captain, you will need to login to your account and add your partner, this is mandatory for all teams and must be completed before you will be able to compete on the day. Not sure how? This article will help CLICK HERE . Once you have added your partner's email, please chase them up to accept their invite that will be in their inbox. 

 

Event info: 

  • Please park at Stepnell House, Lawford Road, CV21 2UU. Please DO NOT park in the estate. 
  • Athlete arrival 0800-0815
  • Athlete briefing 0815
  • WOD 1 Starts 0845
  • Food and drinks available all day
  • Spectators get in free so bring your mates and family
  • Awesome vendors will be on site including; Volentia Cafe, Santina's Woodfired Pizza co, Jack's Bakery and Halo Fitness! 

Things to bring: 

  • Water bottle (we will happily fill this up for you throughout the day)
  • Coffee travel mug (we have some disposable cups but want to reduce our impact on the planet) 
  • Usual training gear (skipping rope/ lifting shoes if you use them/ gymnastics grips etc)

  • Athlete arrival will be 0800-0815

  • Dogs are allowed but must be kept on leads and away from the workout floor

Thanks for signing up to our 2023 Mixed pairs event! 

We now have just a handful of tickets left, so if you have mates that want to get signed up then please let them know that they'll need to book on ASAP before we're sold out! 

We're going all out this year with 4 scored workouts for all teams and loads of time on the competition floor for all athletes.

The Volentia cafe will be open serving hot and cold drinks, plus protein snacks. Santina's Woodfired Pizza Co and Jack's Bakery will also be there to help keep you well fuelled and Halo Fitness will have a pop up shop on the day showcasing their amazing training inspired clothing!
